Costco continues to grow its footprint across North America, with several new warehouse locations scheduled to open in early 2026. For members and shoppers, that means more access to the bulk deals, groceries, and household essentials the brand is known for.
If you’re a Costco fan, here’s a look at the new locations opening this spring and what this expansion says about the company’s growth strategy.
New Costco Stores Opening in March 2026
Costco is kicking off its spring expansion with three new warehouses opening in March. These stores are being placed in rapidly growing areas where demand for warehouse shopping has been increasing.
The new March openings include:
Liberty Hill, Texas – March 11, 2026
Forney, Texas – March 12, 2026
St. George, Utah – March 13, 2026
These locations were selected to better serve expanding suburban communities. In some cases, shoppers previously had to travel significant distances to reach the nearest Costco warehouse.
More Locations Planned for April
Costco isn’t slowing down after March. Additional warehouses are expected to open in April, further expanding the company’s presence in the United States.
Upcoming April locations include:
North Visalia, California
New Braunfels, Texas
In addition to these U.S. openings, Costco also plans to launch a Costco Business Center in Winnipeg, Canada, which focuses on products designed specifically for business owners, such as restaurant supplies and bulk commercial goods.
Costco’s Expansion Strategy
These new warehouses are part of a much larger expansion plan. Costco expects to open around 28 new locations in fiscal year 2026, continuing a steady pattern of growth for the membership-based retailer.
The company already operates more than 900 warehouses globally, with over 600 locations in the United States and Puerto Rico alone.
Costco’s strategy focuses on building stores in fast-growing communities where membership demand is rising. New warehouses often include features like gas stations, expanded parking, and upgraded checkout technology to improve the overall shopping experience.
Why Costco Keeps Growing
Despite challenges in the retail industry, Costco continues to expand thanks to its unique business model.
Unlike traditional retailers, Costco relies heavily on membership fees and high-volume sales of a smaller selection of products. This allows the company to offer competitive pricing while maintaining strong customer loyalty.
New warehouse openings also help reduce crowding at existing stores and bring Costco closer to new communities that want easier access to its products and services.
What This Means for Shoppers
For Costco members, new locations typically mean:
Shorter travel times to shop
Less crowded warehouses
Expanded access to Costco’s services, including gas stations and pharmacies
As Costco continues opening new stores throughout 2026 and beyond, more communities across the U.S. will likely see the warehouse giant move into their area.
