The Costco Kirkland Signature Price Cuts Guide 2026: Every Reported Price Drop From Walnuts to King Sheets, the Percent You Save on Each, and How to Spot the Next One

Prices usually only go one direction at the grocery store, which is why a price cut feels like news. This Costco Kirkland Signature price cuts guide 2026 collects every Kirkland Signature price reduction that Costco’s executives named on their 2026 earnings calls, shows the exact dollars and percentages saved, and explains how to catch the next round. We built it from Costco’s own call transcripts and news coverage of them, and we flag where the reporting leaves gaps.
Today is October 22, 2026, and the holidays are weeks away. If you buy these items regularly, now is a good time to see what you are paying compared with last year.
The Full List of Reported Cuts
Costco has not published a master list of price cuts. What we have are the items its executives called out on two earnings calls this year.
From the fiscal 2026 fourth-quarter call (CFO Gary Millerchip):
Kirkland Signature item | Old price | New price | You save | Percent |
Walnuts | $13.79 | $9.99 | $3.80 | 27.6% |
Colombian whole bean coffee | $21.99 | $19.99 | $2.00 | 9.1% |
Dry facial towel | $19.99 | $18.99 | $1.00 | 5.0% |
Coarse black pepper | $6.99 | $5.99 | $1.00 | 14.3% |
From the earlier call on May 28, as reported by Fox Business:
Kirkland Signature item | Old price | New price | You save | Percent |
Crispy wings | $16.99 | $14.99 | $2.00 | 11.8% |
Milk chocolate almonds | $19.99 | $18.99 | $1.00 | 5.0% |
Golf balls | $32.99 | $29.99 | $3.00 | 9.1% |
King size sheets | $89.99 | $79.99 | $10.00 | 11.1% |
If you bought one of each at the old prices, you would have paid about $23.80 more across the eight items. The percentages are our arithmetic from the reported prices.
A few caveats. Package sizes were not stated in the sources for most of these items. The Fox Business report gave no effective dates, and described the list as “at least four” items, so other products may have changed too. The prices are as reported and were not checked against warehouse shelves, and regional pricing can differ. Treat the table as a guide, and check your own warehouse.
What Costco Says About Kirkland
On the fourth-quarter call, Millerchip said Kirkland Signature items “play an important role in how we deliver greater value for our members,” and that Kirkland items save members at least 15 to 20 percent compared with national brands, with “equal or better quality.”
That is Costco’s own claim, and it is the standard against which the label is judged. Savings will not be identical on every item, so run a quick price check on the national brand when you can.
The CEO also described price cuts on everyday produce, meat, and beverages, and on some home furnishings and hardware, though he did not name those products as Kirkland.
Costco also launched new Kirkland items in the same quarter, including a Japanese matcha green tea powder, one-ounce silver bars, pretzel sandwiches, and ultra-filtered 2 percent milk. For reference, the Colombian coffee cut landed in a category where Kirkland has been actively changing its lineup.
Why Does Costco Cut Kirkland Prices?
Costco did not say what prompted the cuts. We can describe the context without guessing at motives.
Costco has cut before. News coverage notes that Kirkland boneless chicken tenders were cut by about 13 percent in 2024, with reported sales up 21 percent afterward. That figure comes from media reporting, not a Costco statement, but it shows that a visible cut can move volume.
Some members have complained. Coverage of the 2026 cuts quoted shoppers on social media saying certain Kirkland items “have become too expensive,” including chocolate-covered almonds. These are anecdotes, and the reporting did not confirm that those exact items were among the ones cut.
Value is the brand promise. Costco’s whole model depends on members feeling they are getting a better deal than anywhere else. A cut on a signature item reinforces that.
How to Spot the Next Price Cut
You do not need to wait for an earnings call. These habits work:
Keep a short price list on your phone. Write down the price you paid for your top ten Kirkland staples. A quick comparison at each trip shows changes.
Check the warehouse app and website. Prices on Costco.com and the app can reveal changes, but remember that online and in-warehouse prices can differ.
Read the earnings call highlights. Costco reports quarterly, and the CFO often names price changes. Coverage by business news sites summarizes them within days.
Watch the monthly coupon book. Temporary discounts are different from permanent cuts, but the book shows what Costco is promoting. The current book runs October 19 through November 15, 2026.
Ask at the warehouse. Staff on the floor sometimes notice price changes before the news does.
Track by unit price. A price that looks the same may be a smaller package. Compare cost per ounce, per count, or per sheet.
How to Use the Cuts to Stock Up Wisely
A lower price is only a bargain if you use the product. Think through these questions before you buy extra:
Will it spoil? Walnuts and other nuts have a limited shelf life, and storing them in a cool, dry place or the freezer can help. Check the date on the package.
Is the container a size you can finish? A discount on a very large bag is a loss if half goes to waste.
Is there a holiday use? Baking season is near, and walnuts, pepper, and chocolate almonds all fit holiday cooking, gifting, and snack trays.
Do you have storage space? Bedding and towels are easier to store than frozen wings.
Is this a normal-use item for your household? Skip the novelty buys.
Common Mistakes
Assuming every Kirkland item is cheaper than the national brand without checking.
Buying more than you can use because the price dropped.
Confusing a temporary coupon-book discount with a permanent cut.
Comparing the old per-package price with a new, smaller package.
Relying on a single news article for current prices without checking your warehouse.
Forgetting that prices vary by region.
Skipping the national-brand comparison on items you buy often.
